"Get REAL About Safety"

This interactive 2-day seminar & workshop provides senior managers, mid-level managers and floor / jobsite level supervisors with the information and knowledge needed to raise the bar in safety performance. The seminar discusses the difference between traditional safety programs and high performance safety cultures. It describes three critical requirements for effective culture change and provides a 12-step methodology for acheiving safety excellence. Numerous group activities are built into the program to anchor the concepts. On completion of the seminar, participants will be trained, committed and motivated to raise the bar in safety performance. This seminar is a core requirement for clients utilizing our culture change services.

On request, a third day "gap session" can be added. Based on the foundation of our "Get REAL" seminar, we will jointly facilitate an interactive performance gap analysis with your organization's senior management. Most organizations find this a powerful experience that often "ignites the burners" to a new era of safety performance.

Leadership for Safety Excellence

Leadership behavior is critical to the development of a high performance safety culture. The actions and decisions of leaders have a dramatic impact on the level of safety performance that organizations experience. While some say leaders are born, the truth is, leaders can be developed.

This is an interactive 2-day workshop designed to provide supervisors and managers with the tools and knowledge needed for successful leadership skill development. Participants will learn how to take safety to the next level by creating an environment of operational excellence. Skills developed from this course will provide attendees with a base for improving not only safety, but also every performance metric.

Performance Coaching

People only improve through feedback. To optimize safety performance, supervisors and managers should actively coach employees to excellence. This 2-day seminar / workshop is designed to introduce managers and supervisors to the performance coaching process. Participants will learn how to design an effective system, how to train new coaches, and how to measure progress.

Behavior-based safety is a powerful tool for improving safety performance. When used to its fullest potential, BBS can transform a safety process into one of high performance, high reliability, and high employee ownership.

This 2-day seminar / workshop is designed as an introduction to the behavior-based safety process. Participants will learn how to design a company specific BBS process, train observers, track results and to expand and improve the process.

This is a 1-day seminar for senior managers interested in changing organizational culture. Participants will learn about the composition of organizational culture, the dynamics of culture change, and how to assess, measure, and manage change. Beyond Compliance - Moving to Safety Excellence

Today, many organizations seek operational excellence in every area of performance. Unfortunately, safety is an area where performance often lags. The key to stellar safety performance is organizational culture. Implementing safety programs without actively working to shape a supporting performance culture sets up a "program" mindset that destines the organization to mediocre results.

In this presentation, the speaker will discuss the need for objectively assessing an organization's current safety culture, twelve critical building blocks necessary for creating a high-performance safety culture, and how to avoid some common failures in changing culture.

This conference presentation can be conducted in a 1 or 2 hour format.

Dynamics of Culture Change

The majority of culture change efforts fail to produce the desired results. The speaker will discuss organizational forces that can pull change efforts off track and how to keep them on track. The speaker will also cover success strategies, four categories of individuals in any change effort, and how to manage resistance to change.

This is a 1-hour conference presentation.

Perception is Reality

Organizational culture is largely shaped by employee perceptions. What people perceive the company (or boss) wants from them in terms of performance becomes reality. The speaker will discuss how employee perceptions impact safety performance and the use of perception surveys as a leading indicator for measuring safety process effectiveness.
