Safety Culture Assessments

Safety Goggles

Organizational culture has a direct impact on the behavior of employees and managers. Culture consists of shared values, beliefs, perceptions, philosophies and policies and forms an environment in which people work. It is an invisible force that dictates how employees go about doing their work.

Simply put, perception is reality when it comes to safety. By defining the current culture you are in a better position to develop strategies and action plans for improvement of your safety process.

PROSAFE Solutions consultants are experts at conducting effective safety culture assessments. We utilize a time-tested three-pronged approach that consists of:
  • Perception Surveys

  • Focus Group Interviews

  • Management Interviews

Our specially designed Safety Opinion Survey© (SOS) is administered to measure perceptions in relation to six key drivers of a safety culture. A gap analysis provides your company with important baseline data for measuring progress of your culture change efforts.  A full statistical report with graphs is provided as part of the overall assessment document.

Focus group and management interviews are conducted by our expert facilitators to augment perception survey data, provide grassroots suggestions for improvement, and to validate survey responses.

Based on the findings, a Safety Culture Assessment Report is generated which provides you with snapshot of the current safety culture in your organization. You are now armed with the tools needed for implementing, measuring, and managing the changes required to develop a high-performance safety culture.

An optional approach for companies with limited resources is a self-assessment process that will provide you with the use of the Safety Opinion Survey©, a facilitation guide for collecting the surveys, and a statistical report.
